SANA’A – Prime Minister of the Republic of Yemen, Abdulaziz Bin Habtoor, has assigned a committee with the specific goal of ensuring all needs of Yemen’s many internally displaces persons (IDPs) are met.
The committee, specialising in providing humanitarian aid to refugees fleeing war and occupation in the areas under control of the invasion armies, immediately set to work with a field visit to Hodeidah province.
In an IDP camp in the Zabid district, they determined the needs of the refugees, and provided necessary aid.
The committee consisted amongst others of Minister of Water and Environment, Nabil Abdullah Al-Wazeer, and the Governor of Hodeidah province, Hassan Al-Heej.
Minister Al-Wazeer stressed the need for humanitarian organisations to aid the internally displaces persons of Yemen, and added that any targeting of these camps is a flagrant violation of international law.
The committee itself provided 50 shelter tents to the camp’s inhabitants, as well as water pumping facilities through a local water foundation branch, sewage processing equipment and newly constructed bathrooms.
