JIZAN – The Missile Forces of the Yemeni army have on Wednesday fired a cruise missile on a Saudi power plant in the border province of Jizan, a military official said.
The official said in a statement that the missile hit the station in al-Shaqiq area accurately.
For his part, the Spokesman of the Yemeni a Armed forces, Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e said that the cruise missile its target as planned, and that the attack is a response to the many crimes committed by the Saudi-led aggression coalition against the Yemeni people.
Sare’e said that there is a series of surprise attacks coming against vital infrastructural and economical positions in Saudi Arabia, if the Riyadh regime continues to wage war and impose siege on Yemen.
Last week, the Yemeni army fired a cruise missile at Saudi Arabia’s Abha airport, inflicting heavy damage and completely putting the airport out of operation for a while.
The use of cruise missile technology is very new in the Yemeni conflict. Before last week, it wasn’t even known that Yemen possessed any cruise missiles at all. The development and production of the hitherto unknown missile apparently happened in utmost secrecy, showing the military defence capacities of the Yemeni nation.
