Leader of the Revolution, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi, has stated on on Thursday that al-Sarkha (The Scream), as the official slogan of the Ansarullah movement is called, was originally launched at the peak of the American attacks on the region.
“The Qur’anic project and Al-Sarkha [were started] in the face of the arrogant powers, and came as a result of the existence of a threat and a real danger to our Islamic nation,” said Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi in a televised speech aired by Al-Masirah Channel on the occasion of the annual anniversary of the launch of al-Sarkha.
The al-Sarkha slogan was first raised publicly during a visit of then-president Ali Abdullah Saleh, a US-backed pro-Saudi ruler, to the city of Sa’ada, which was the heartland of Ansarullah activism, in 2003. Since then, the slogan, which praises Allah, denounces the US, Israel and Zionist ideology and calls for Islamic unity, has become widely popular all across Yemen, becoming a recognizeable symbol of resistance and revolution.
Al-Houthi pointed out that Americans had abused the September 11 attacks to the maximum extent they could, in ordere to act with destructive plans towards the Islamic nation of Yemen.
“The enemy had worked by all means to penetrate the entity of the nation and to influence in its internal status,” he added. “We need to confront this hostile project with a state of mobilization and awareness for all the people of the nation,”
Sayyid al-Houthi noted that Saudi, Emirati and Bahraini regimes not commit treachery in their own country, but also try to impose submission on all peoples of the region.
“The alliance with the United States of America and Israel is a betrayal to the nation, and Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates seek to make it a true trend,” Sayyed al-Houthi said.
