SANA’A – Hunaina Al-Mughairy, the ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United States, has said that Oman rejects the war in Yemen, which does not serve any party.
“The best way to settle the conflict between Yemenis is through international negotiations,” Hunaina Al-Mughairy told Al-Monitor website.
“The Yemeni people are the only victims of this devastating war, which has not yet ended and has resolved in many human tragedies,” she added.
“The Sultanate of Oman supports the efforts of the UN special envoy to Yemen, expressing the hope that a solution to the crisis will soon be reached,” the ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United States added.
She condemned the diplomatic crisis between Qatar and other GCC countries (except Oman and Kuwait) which broke out in 2017, saying it was “very unfortunate” and under the progress made by the regional bloc.
She said that “Oman is doing its efforts with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Kuwait, especially to find a solution to the crisis soon and stop the war on Yemen.”
The move came in the light of the objection of the state of Oman to the aggression waged by the Saudi-led coalition against Yemen since March 2015 until the moment, and in which the aggression countries have failed to achieve any of their objectives.
