SANA’A – Mohammad Ali al-Houthi has called on the Sudanese people to protect their children, their blood and their souls, from being dragged into an illegal war in Yemen.
“At least 10 of the Janjaweed forces have been killed and others injured in the battles of Wadi al-Thaaban, including a Sudanese child soldier,” Mohammed al-Houthi said in his Twitter page on Saturday.
“A 17-year-old boy named Musa Adam Ali is among the dead of the Janjaweed forces in the Wadi al-Thaaban battle,” al-Houthi said.
“The Janjawid group is classified as a terrorist organisation in accordance with a resolution of the Security Council, and [Sudanese president] al-Bashir is trying to get rid of them by sending them to Yemen.”
More than 1,000 so-called “rapid support forces” of the Sudanese Janjaweed have been killed on various fronts of the Saudi-UAE-led coalition war on Yemen.
Often, they are hired by Saudi and Emirati forces and subsequently used as cannon fodder in the front lines of battle. Several reports have indicated the invaders don’t shy away from hiring child soldiers in Sudan either.
