Hundreds of Zionist settlers have stormed the compounds of the Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque early on Tuesday morning, with tight protection from the Zionist armed forces.
Safa News Agency reported that about 150 settlers stormed the holy al-Aqsa Mosque, one of the most sacred sites in Islam from the door of the al-Mugharibah.
The report pointed to the extensive deployment of enemy police officers who accompanied the settlers in their incursions to get out of the al-Salselah door.
Last night, thousands of settlers stormed the courtyard of the Al-Buraq Wall in the western wall of the Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform Talmudic rituals for the Jewish holiday of Yuom Kippur, amid strict measures restricting the freedom of movement of people in al-Quds.
The Al-Aqsa Mosque is subjected to a series of incursions and violations by settlers and various occupation arms nearly on a daily basis, despite official recognition of the area as part of the Kingdom of Jordan.
The settlers have stepped up their attacks, under the protection of Israeli police, attacking the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque as well as its patrons and guards.
Extremist settler groups calling for the complete destruction of the al-Aqsa Mosque have grown in power of the past years. These extremists want to build the so-called Third Temple on the mosque site, despite a lack of archeological and historical evidence that the Jewish temple was ever located at the same location.
