HADHRAMAUT – On Wednesday, Saudi Arabia has sent military reinforcements to the town of Seiyun in the southern province of Hadhramaut, according to southern officials.
The reinforcements included 200 Saudi Royal Guard soldiers with dozens of military vehicles.
The move came in order to quell demonstrations that broke out in the town against Saudi military presence.
On Wednesday, the so-called Southern Transitional Council, which is supported by the UAE occupation forces in Hadhramaut, organized a mass rally rejecting the Saudi military presence in the province.
The Saudi-UAE coalition launched a war on Yemen in March 2015, which has killed thousands of citizens and injured others in flagrant violations against all international conventions and the sovereignty of Yemen.
Despite officially being on the same side however, militias and mercenaries backed by Saudi Arabia and the UAE have often violently clashed with one another.
