NAJRAN – The Yemeni army on Wednesday fired a ballistic missile at gatherings of Saudi troops and mercenaries in Najran region, Yemen’s Armed Forces spokesman brigadier general Yahya Sare’e said.
The military spokesman said that the “Badr-F missile” targeted large concentrations and gatherings of Saudi army mercenaries in northern part of Boqa desert.
The missile strike hit its target with high precision, leaving scores of mercenaries dead and wounded, he confirmed.
Several ambulances were seen rushing to the scene to transport the dead and wounded to Najran hospitals amid confusion and panic among the aggression forces, he added
On June 20, the missile forces of the Yemeni army and popular committees fired Badr-F missile at gatherings of Saudi troops and mercenaries in al-Sawh area, killing and wounding dozens of them.
The Badr-F ballistic missile is a brand new Yemeni domestically produced and developed missile that is reverse-engineered from the Soviet Tochka missile.
The Badr-F has an effective range of 160 kilometers, and upon reaching its goal explodes at a height of 20 meters. Upon explosion, the warhead shatters into 14,000 pieces of shrapnel across a radius of 350 meters, effectively decimating military personnel in the area.
