An Israeli drone went down and another exploded in southern Lebanon early Sunday, an official with Lebanese group Hezbollah said.
One drone crashed over the Moawwad neighbourhood in southern Lebanon after midnight and its debris were taken to a safe place by Hezbollah members, Lebanese channel LBC1 said, citing the official, who was unnamed.
A Hezbollah leader said that the first drone was downed without having exploded, and media close to the Lebanese resistance movement quoted eyewitnesses as saying that Hezbollah had taken control of the aircraft.
According to Lebanese media, the second drone exploded in the sky before it crashed in a southern suburb of Beirut.”
News agency Reuters quoted a Hezbollah official as saying that the second plane caused damage when it crashed near Hezbollah’s media centre, with residents saying that they heard an explosion in the suburbs.
“Hezbollah will respond in a harsh manner,” the official stated, proclaiming that at 5:00 PM this afternoon, an expected speech of the party’s general secretary Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah in the town of Al Ain will address the matter.
The Zionist entity of Israel is notorious for violating the territory and airspace of Arab and Islamic nations surrounding occupied Palestine. At numerous times, Tel Aviv has carried out illegal airstrikes on Lebanon, Syria and even Iraq, in clear violation of international law.
